The 38th edition of the Ghent Film Festival is scheduled for 11 to 22 October. The yearly World Soundtrack Awards, which take place during the festival, are an internationally renowned event. The 11th edition takes place on 22 October featuring Oscar winning composers Hans Zimmer, Elliot Goldenthal and Howard Shore. We adapted the beautiful leader in stereo and mono for the edition of 2011.

Raveleijn

Since October 2010, we have been working nonstop to finish 12 episodes (25 min) of the TV series Raveleijn. Raveleijn is a city in Efteling and has its own youth series written by Efteling and Paul Van Loon, directed by Anne van der Linden and produced by FourOne.Media and Efteling Media. It tells the story of 5 kids who start a great adventure entering a mysterious gate in the woods. Enjoy this compilation of some key shots in the series and action shots of the dragon and gaffers.

Lu Côte D’or

Euro RSCG briefed Grid to produce a 5 sec tag on for the end of year limited edition Lu Côte D’or. Under supervision of Daan Tanghe, we completed the material with 3D animation and compositing.

Mc Flurry’s

The agency TBWA briefed Grid to produce some tag ons for 4 different flavors of the Mc Flurry deserts. From photo shoot, over 3D animation and paint to compositing, it results in this tasty production.

Anima

Santa’s Magic Crystal

Time for an update on the feature film Magic Crystal, changed into “Santa’s Magic Crystal”.
During The Film Festival in Berlin (February 2011) where the stereoscopic trailer was well received, the sales to TF1 was announced.
This animation production is a fine example that working together on an international level can lead to ambitious and technological innovative productions with international exposure (dixit Mark Mertens, Skyline Entertainment).
3 producers (Skyline Entertainment in Brussels, Epidem Zot in Finland, Araneo – group Dupuis in Charleroi) and 4 studios (Animation studio Anima Vitea in Finland, Dreamwall in Charleroi, Victor 3D in Brussels, Grid in Ghent for the image and Sonicville in Brussels for the sound) worked together on the film ready to release in November 2012.

Embrace complexity

Creative communication agency MENG. (Utrecht, The Netherlands) in collaboration with production company Those Silly Men created an original idea to illustrate the benefits of the “Be Informed software solutions” which allow organizations to embrace complexity, symbolized through the impressive clusters you find in nature. Grid realized this production under vfx supervision of Daan Van den Eeden.

Innovation Union – act 1

Commissioned by the European Community, Emakina.eu selected Grid to produce 2 films to create goodwill about a large research and innovation project. In collaboration with Emakina/Motion, Grid organized the shoot and finished the film with vfx, motion design and computer graphics. The efforts of a team of 16 persons resulted in this excellent movie.
