Groenten uit Balen (Germaine)

Skyline Entertainment and director Frank Van Mechelen adapted the theater play “Groenten uit Balen” into a feature film due to be released mid December. The story revolves around the 1971 strike in the zinc works of Balen. The lead roles are personified by: Stany Crets, Lucas Van den Eynde, Clara Cleymans, Koen De Bouw and Axel Daeseleire. Grid was responsible for the online, color grading and titles. Enjoy the trailer!

Sharkwise

Since 23rd of March, Sharkwise is finally released in theaters. It’s all about the adventures of Marc Sluszny meeting the white shark, directed by Lieven Debrauwer, narrated by Martin Sheen and composed by Dirk Brosse. In case you have not seen it yet, a preview and more info here.

Code 37 II and the movie

Since the beginning of march, the second season of Code 37 is back on air on VTM . Frank Van Looy & Mathieu Depuydt had fun editing the episodes.
In the meanwhile the shoot of Code 37 the movie is ongoing and we are occupied with set supervision and handling the Alexa material. Still a long way to go before releasing theatrically on Wednesday 26th of October. So for now, you have to settle with the teaser.

Santa’s Magic Crystal

Time for an update on the feature film Magic Crystal, changed into “Santa’s Magic Crystal”.
During The Film Festival in Berlin (February 2011) where the stereoscopic trailer was well received, the sales to TF1 was announced.
This animation production is a fine example that working together on an international level can lead to ambitious and technological innovative productions with international exposure (dixit Mark Mertens, Skyline Entertainment).
3 producers (Skyline Entertainment in Brussels, Epidem Zot in Finland, Araneo – group Dupuis in Charleroi) and 4 studios (Animation studio Anima Vitea in Finland, Dreamwall in Charleroi, Victor 3D in Brussels, Grid in Ghent for the image and Sonicville in Brussels for the sound) worked together on the film ready to release in November 2012.

Mega Mindy en het zwarte kristal

We are in the middle of the postproduction of this new Mega Mindy feature film (Mega Mindy and the black Crystal). Director Matthias Temmermans has locked the edit and our VFX team is starting their part of the job in august. Still quite a long way to go. Release date is planned for December 2010.

Probably the first REDcam feature in Belgium, which is high on the list interest of GRID. We are known for our appreciation and high interest for digital, but also love the ‘film look’. We are certain that our current work with the RED, and the almost 100% clean workflow on set and in post were very appreciated by the producers and crew. Other projects are in the pipeline with a similar work flow.
